The Prize!

I got my player today. I am so happy and proud! I am going to a Brad Paisley concert and when I received the tickets, there was a coupon for 50 free songs. I know where they are going, I just have to decide on the songs. Sounds like fun!
We are looking forward to a family reunion. All 3 of our children are coming for a few days and we get to play with all 3 granddaughters at the same time. I get to be Mimi for a week! TTFN

#7 Fun & Games

Ah, my last blog for the course, but not for good! Happy Birthday to my sister, Mary Divine! Yes, that is her name, isn't it cool? Anyway, I want to wrap this up so I can start playing with my MP3 player. I worked on this lesson quite a while ago, but didn't write my blog. I peeked at dogster and catster but didn't stay long because I don't have a pet. Tonight I went out to Blufr and really enjoyed that. However, I was bluffed more than I was correct. I did learn a few facts though. I am not a beer or wine drinker and don't really enjoy spending time with games.

I looked up cross-stitching, but only found sites with patterns. Wait, I just looked up tea drinkers and found a very interest site. I'm not sure if it is learn 2.0, but I look forward to going back there because I do like tea. http://www.teamuse.com/article_010701.html

I have really enjoyed learning the many different things in this course and I plan to go through it again to absorb more. I want to be a lifetime learner. Thank you, OCLS!

#8 On-line Learning

Hello again! I can't believe it is July 8 already! I have really enjoyed this Learn 2.0 course. I would like to have a lot more time to devote to it though. When I go surfing on the net I get sidetracked very easily and time just flies. I like learning on-line and have shared ideas and favorite e-places with a few co-workers. We don't have the time to work on things together, though. Here at Herndon we are very busy and our off desk time is precious.
I could not have finished this course without the help of several here at work and I thank them deeply. I have also spent some time going through the course at home. It is quieter and there is only one other person waiting in line for the computer!
I am going out to my Flickr and post some pics of Herndon.

Back to #6

My favorite library technology is our on-line databases, especially the book club. I actually met Suzanne a few years ago at the Staff Day. She was great and even brought her famous chocolate chip cookies to share. I signed up for the club and have been enjoying it 5 minutes a day since then. Another favorite is the novelist database, which I love to teach to our patrons.
